Yuma Gem & Mineral Society Donates
Arizona Western College’s Geology Department proudly announced a donation from the Yuma Gem and Mineral Society. Represenatives from the club were on campus to donate a check to the AWC Geology Department on Wednesday, March 18th in the AWC Science Building.
The Club’s current President, Gene Zielke, says of the donation; “We donate the money to help out the earth science department…to help further the future interest in the rock hound and geology fields.”
The Yuma Gem and Mineral Society holds fundraisers throughout the year to raise the money. The members donate their rocks and items found for silent auctions and raffles.
